Back for the 4th time, the International Animal Training Conference has become a mainstay of the animal training calendar attracting delegates from across the world from all animal training disciplines.

Keynote speaker – Barbara Heidenreich, Animal Training Consultant

4th-International-Animal-Training-Conference-Twycross-Zoo-Heidenreich-tortoiseBarbara is an animal training and behaviour consultant specializing in avian, exotics and zoo animal training. She lectures and consults worldwide working with zoos, universities, veterinary professionals, pet owners and conservation projects. She is an adjunct clinical instructor at Texas A & M University.

She has produced seven DVDs, authored two books and guest edited and contributed to two veterinary text books. Barbara regularly lectures to the veterinary community and much of her work focuses on training exotic species to cooperate in medical care.

Barbara is a former president of the International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators and served on the Board of Directors from 1997-2009. She is an advisor for EAZA’s Animal Training Working Group and the Parrot Taxon Advisory Group.

Barbara is thrilled to have had the opportunity to train thousands of animals, from rabbits to rhinos. She is passionate about teaching excellent practical application training skills. One day workshop with Chirag Patel

Chirag Patel of Domesticated Manners will be hosting a pre conference workshop on the 12th November 2017.

This workshop will be a one day event at an additional price of £75 if you register for the International Animal Training Conference.

The Animal Behavior Management Alliance, (ABMA) is a not-for-profit corporation with a membership comprised of animal care professionals and other individuals interested in enhancing animal care through training and enrichment. The ABMA is intended to be nurturing and informative, and was created to serve trainers, handlers, and keepers of animals, irrespective of species, with information and assistance in the behaviour management of their charges.
