Conservation-Dogs-LogoWe are very pleased to announce that Aran Clyne from Conservation Dogs will be joining us to give a demonstration. A subsidiary of Wagtail UK, Conservation Dogs is a centre for the training of anti-poaching and wildlife detection dogs. In 2013 Conservation Dogs became the first company to work with the Gabonese National Park Agency, The Ministry of Water and Forests and Wildlife Conservation Society in Gabon to train and supply a team of Anti Poaching Dogs.

The dogs are trained to detect elephant ivory, leopard skin, pangolin scale, bush meat, bats, mice, cheetah scats (faeces), pine marten scats and great crested newts. This is to assist conservation groups in their activities. Conservation Dogs also train dogs to detect ‘live animals’, including exotic pets in the fight against the illegal wildlife trade.

As some of you may recall Mike attended last year but due to the poor weather the display had to be called off. Are you interested in presenting at the 3rd International Animal Training Conference?

You can submit an abstract to us by completing an abstract submission form and sending it back to us before the 7th April 2016.

The conference is Entitled “Animal Training – The Journey”. The conference will focus on the how’s, ifs and whys of animal training, showing both the trainers’ and animals’ journeys from concept to conclusion. Whilst we’re all very proud of showing off the finished results of our training sometimes the most interesting and exciting part of the process is how we got there. The conference will delve into this area looking at the entire process rather than just the final result.

*Abstracts within in this theme will be considered only.
