We have two very special events happening on 20th – 26th June 2016 – it’s Celebrating Giraffes Week AND National Insect Week!
World Giraffe Day is on 21st June, but we are extending celebrations all week! Celebrating Giraffes Week is focused on raising awareness of these amazing creatures and the increasing dangers they face in the wild. With less than 90,000 giraffe remaining in the wild, it is time to act now!
Help support giraffe conservation and secure the protection of giraffe numbers and habitat in the wild by helping to raising awareness. You can take part in our fun trail to learn more about these wonderful animals. Plus you’ll have the chance to win a giraffe encounter!
Across the country, bug fans will be celebrating National Insect Week! National Insect Week encourages people of all ages to learn more about insects and the important role they play in our everyday lives.
Join us in Butterfly Forest for activities and a special bug trail every day between 20th -26th June. Meet the inverts at 11am, 2pm and 4.30pm in Butterfly Forest where you can get up close and personal to some of our resident invertebrates! You can also have a go at identifying native species and go Bug Hunting with our Education Rangers at 5pm in the Twycross Zoo Nature Reserve.
