Animals : Primates : Lemurs

Lemurs belong to a group of primates called prosimians, which are believed to be similar to the earliest primates. All lemurs come from the island of Madagascar off the coast of Southeast Africa. They differ from monkeys and apes by their pointed faces, which make facial expressions challenging. They also have a wet nose, similar to dogs, which makes their sense of smell much better than that of monkeys and apes.
