Director of the year award for Twycross Zoo CEO, Sharon Redrobe

Twycross Zoo chief executive, Sharon Redrobe has won the Institute of Directors (IoD) West Midlands Director of the Year Award in the ‘Not For Profit’ category

Sharon is currently at the forefront of our transformation plan, which will make Twycross one of the UK’s leading visitor attractions.

On receiving the award, Sharon commented, “It is an honour to be recognised by the Institute of Directors with this award.

 “Being CEO of Twycross Zoo is a challenging role, particularly as we pursue our £55 million redevelopment programme to realise our ambition of becoming a leading visitor attraction and world-class zoo.

“I’m delighted that I am running a charity successfully which is recognised as a proper business.”

Calum Nisbet, regional director of IoD West Midlands, added: “The judges were delighted with Dr Redrobe’s nomination.

“She clearly demonstrated a strong vision supported by good strategy, as well as an understanding of good business ethics.

“These are all the qualities we need for modern directors and we wish her well with the national awards.”
