Opportunities for young people to get more involved with Twycross Zoo

These activities run at weekends and during school holidays and provide a great way for your young people to find out about the Zoo in general, our animals and our work. 

Zoo Club – February Half Term 2017

Each week is full of engaging and exciting activities themed around animals, wildlife, nature and zoos. Children will have the chance to join in with various activities including arts and crafts, making enrichment (toys) for our animals, giving heath checks to some of our friendlier animals, and/or cryptic trails around the zoo!

  • Ages: 8 – 14 year olds
  • Cost: £85 per person per week, or £20 per person per day
  • Dates: 13th – 17th and also 20th – 24th February 2017
  • Drop off: 9am,  pick up at 4.30pm
  • Wrap around care available: for £5 per session (session times 08.30 – 09.00 and also 16.30 – 17.30)

Zooniversity – Summer Holiday Club

It’s not just keepers that work at the zoo! Join the discovery team for the week to try out different zoo careers.

Have you ever wondered about what goes on behind the scenes at Twycross Zoo?

If this sounds like you then come along to Twycross Zoo’s ‘Zooniversity’ and find out more about careers with wildlife through a week of fun activities such as cleaning out enclosures, conducting research, designing animal enclosures and much more.


Conservation Club – Weekend Activity Group

  • Ages: 8 – 12 year olds
  • Cost: £36 for non-members (for full 6 weeks) and £12 for Twycross Zoo Members (for full 6 weeks)
  • Dates: Starts on Saturday 4th March 2017, and then every Saturday morning for x 6 weeks: so all the dates are: March 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th, April 1st and 8th.
  • Drop off: Meet in Himalaya (entrance to the Zoo area) by tourist gateway to be registered with Discovery Staff.
  • Booking: This has to be done in advance and for the 6-weeks in full; all 6 weeks must be booked in advance, unfortunately you can’t book individual days and we are unable to accommodate walk-ins. This is because the sessions follow on from each other as a full 6-week programme.

Conservation Club is based around all things animals, wildlife and the environment.

Through fun and engaging activities, such as cleaning out enclosures, making enrichment for the animals, trails, crafts and more, participants will gain more of an understanding of why animals are endangered and how we can all help to protect them.
