Uniform Groups
Whether you are a Brownie group or a Scout group we can provide an experience that your members will find enjoyable and engaging.
Where else can you get transported to the jungles of South America, the Himalayas and the forests of Borneo all in one day?
Nothing compares to a trip to the Zoo.
Our activity days are specially designed to combine just the right amount of activity and free time to explore.
We have specific days planned for your Animal Active Badge and Be A Friend to the Animals Badge, but the activity days are suitable for all uniform groups.
Get Animal Active
This day is suitable for ages 10 – 14 approximately.
This day begins with an introductory trail to give your group a real feel for the zoo and see some animals straight away.
It also includes a conservation talk with a chance to meet some of our friendlier animals and explore some of our furs and other specimens.
In the afternoon alongside the badge requirements, small groups will choose an endangered species to focus on and write and deliver their own presentation to the rest of the groups.
Be A Friend To The Animals
This day is suitable for ages 7 – 10 approximately.
The activities can be adapted for ages 5 – 7.
This day begins with a walk through the zoo to give your group a chance to see some animals and how they live in the zoo.
We will introduce the day by expanding on the differences between wild and zoo animals and thinking about the reasons why animals are in the zoo.
This is a chance to meet some of our friendlier animals and explore our furs and other specimens.
After lunch and free time, the group will have an arts and crafts session looking at colour, camouflage and pattern and the day will finish with a guided tour of the zoo designed and decided by the group to ask any questions that have been bugging them all day.
