More about our Educational Workshops
Our Educational Workshops are specially designed to combine just the right amount of activity and free time to explore the zoo!
Get Animal Active
Suitable for 10 – 14 years
Beginning with an introductory trail around the zoo followed by a conservation talk with a chance to meet some of our friendlier animals and see some special artifacts.
In the afternoon (alongside the Animal Active Badge and Be A Friend To The Animals Badge requirements, if applicable), children will break off into smaller groups to choose an endangered species to focus on and deliver a presentation to the wider group.
Be A Friend To The Animals
Suitable for 7 – 10 years (can be adapted for 5 – 7 years)
Beginning with a walk through the zoo to give your group a chance to discover a selection of animals. Your group will learn more about the difference between wild and zoo animals. Get the chance to meet some of our friendlier animals and see some special artifacts.
After lunch your group will take part in a special arts and crafts session, looking at colour, camouflage and pattern of different animals. Last but not least the workshop will finish with a guided tour of the zoo designed and decided by the group to ask any questions that have been bugging them all day!
Education Workshops take place from 10am-4pm with up to two hours free time at lunch.
We request leader supervision is kept to a ratio of one adult to eight children, and we include entrance for adults up to a 1:5 ratio in the price.
