School Holiday Club for Kids at Twycross Zoo!

Keep the kids busy during the school holidays with loads of zoo fun!

Children aged between 8 – 14 years can get involved with lots of engaging and exciting activities all themed around animals, wildlife, nature and zoos! They will discover more about our very own endangered animals, global conservation issues, zoo ethics, world habitats and animal behaviours.

*Zoo Club Activities Include – Arts and Crafts; Making Animal Enrichment; Giving Animal Health Checks (to some of our friendlier animals); Cryptic Trails; Plus lots more! All activities are led by our experienced Discovery and Learning Team.

More About Zoo Club

  • Ages: 8 – 14 year olds
  • Cost: £85 per child per week (5 days), or £20 per child per day
  • Drop Off Time: 9am
  • Pick Up Time: 4.30pm
  • Wrap Around Care Available: For £5 per session (Session times: 8.30am – 9am and 4.30pm – 5.30pm – £10 for morning and afternoon sessions)
  • Lunch/Break Times: We do not provide food or drinks – please ensure your children bring their own lunch, snacks and drinks. Children are supervised at all times by the Discovery and Learning Team during all break times

Zoo Club Dates Now Available

Welcome: An introduction from the Discovery and Learning Team who give the children an overview of the day’s events and activities. Everyone is introduced with a fun icebreaker game.

Activity: A physical activity where the children get to do a few jobs the everyday visitors don’t get to do!

Discovery Session: Related to a certain zoo theme and is based on our own school sessions.

Break Time: All break times are fully supervised.

Animal Enrichment Making: Animal enrichment encourages our animals’ natural behaviours and instincts by exciting their senses – sight, smell, touch, taste and sound. Everyone will get involved in making toys/crafts with hidden food items that the animals can play with and explore.

Lunch Time: This is fully supervised. Please note – you must provide a pack-lunch for your child.

Recap and Starter: Time to look back at the mornings’ activities with a game or activity and then the afternoon sessions begin.

Exploration: A chance to get to know the zoo better which may include a trail around the zoo, collecting clues and learning about our animals.

Animal Enrichment Delivery: It’s time to watch the animals interact and investigate the hand-made animal enrichment from this morning.

Break Time: All break times are fully supervised.

Arts and Crafts: A chance to get creative and make something with an animal theme.

End of the Day: A recap of what was learnt throughout the day and a chance to ask questions and give feedback.

Wrap-Around Care (if required): Available from 8.30am – 9am, and also 4.30pm – 5.30pm; £5 per session, £10 for both morning and afternoon sessions.
