Join us during the May half term week where we will be celebrating 50 years of Twycross Zoo! We have something exciting planned to entertain visitors every day of the week ; from live music, performance and sci-fi; to classic cars, a vintage market and some very special guests from Africa!
Admission to these events is included in standard ticket prices – so you don’t need to pay anything extra to take part!
Monday 26 May – Music Day
Glastonbury, Coachella, Creamfields – who cares! The only place to be seen this bank holiday Monday is at our mini music festival! Between 11am and 5pm we will be hosting 200 young children from JAM Rock Music Schools will be entertaining the crowds with some fantastic live music, from pop to rock – so there’s sure to be something for everyones taste!
JAM Rock Music Schools offer weekly lessons in guitar, drums, bass, keyboards and singing in a pop and rock style. Tuesday 27 May – Performance Day
Exiled from his native Prussia, Igor Rasputin and his incredible ape-powered pop up circus is forever feted to travel the four corners of the globe, gathering the Greatest Wonders of the World for his extraordinary menagerie, and this Tuesday they are coming here! Witness music, contortion, mime, an amazing array of circus skills and more from this cabaret of curiosity – and wait, there’s a giant King Kong on the loose?…
Wednesday 28 May – Sci-fi Day
Join us for some adventures in time and space on Wednesday when the zoo will be invaded by Daleks! Have your picture taken with the tardis and run away from the Daleks that are waiting to greet you at the entrance of the zoo!

Thursday 29 May – Classic Car Day
Interested in classic cars, or want to show your children how nice cars used to look back in the day? Why not come to our classic car day on Thursday where you will be able to see classic and modified cars, motorbikes and mopeds and an array of unusual vehicles , in association with Box Motor Club.

Friday 30 May – Vintage Market Day with special guests Massai Warriors
Bert and Gerts Vintage Market rolls onto Cockatoo Lawn on Friday, bringing arts, crafts and vintage vibe to the zoo. With over 30 stalls from a number of independent traders it’s the perfect place to find a unique present for a loved one or maybe just a treat for yourself!

SPECIAL GUESTS – we are delighted to announce we will be welcoming a group of Maasai Warriors from the Rift Valley in Kenya to the zoo on Friday. They will be performing traditional Maasai dances and songs and also demonstrating the skills involved in making their distinctive bead jewellery.
