Splash into Summer at Twycross Zoo

It’s important that, during high temperatures, our animals keep cool and it’s important our visitors do the same!

Wet ‘n Wild

Just like our Lowland tapirs, kids can have a splashing time at Twycross Zoo. Our huge water play area, with water jets and a splash pool, is perfect for cooling off on hot summer days. You can purchase towels, sun cream, shorts and t-shirts in our Lorikeet Landing Gift Shop.

Stroll into the shade 

Take a journey through the deep, dark wood at the brand-new Gruffalo Discovery Land. You’ll find shady outdoor areas and indoor Gruffalo themed activities and film clips.

Frozen foods 

Families can get their hands on ice creams and cold drinks from kiosks around the zoo. For those animals that need an extra helping hand, our keepers have been preparing some animal friendly frozen treats. These come in the form of either big ice blocks or freezing some of their favourite foods.
