With the weather set to rise to 24° Celsius this weekend, take advantage of the warm temperatures with family-friendly water-play activities at Twycross  –  there is an added bonus of discounted ticket prices for those who book online.  For one more week only (until 23 May 2014), the zoo is offering 25% discounts on all admission prices when you book online.

While children can keep cool playing with the zoo’s paddling pools, sprinklers, hoses and other water toys, many of the animal residents will also be enjoying the sunshine and some of their very own icy treats.  Be sure to visit the elephants to see them investigate their giant ice blocks and look out for the monkeys licking fruit ice lollies. The big cats will be chilling out with some meaty ice blocks, while the penguins will be treated to some fishy flavoured ice cubes in their newly cleaned pool with under-water viewing facilities.

Charlotte Macdonald, Head of Life Sciences at Twycross Zoo says, “Twycross Zoo is a fantastic place to visit on bright sunny days. Our keepers will be ensuring the animals are cool and comfortable in the warm weather with special ice treats to keep them refreshed and stimulated. We also have plenty of areas for families to enjoy picnics in the sunshine whilst watching the animals.”

Special offer tickets include fast-track entry to the zoo, keeper talks and animal feeds.
