  • “Well worth a visit”

This was me and my hubbys first visit to Twycross, we visited on my birthday and we had a great day out at the zoo. There were plenty of animals to see and despite it being an overcast day most of the animals were out, we’ve been to other zoos and on a colder/damper day if they weren’t out you couldn’t see them at all. At Twycross those that weren’t out you could see in their houses. We especially enjoyed walking through the Lorakeets, you can pay £1 to feed them and they will land on you to do this. Several enjoyed landing on my head, though I wasn’t too keen!! We were there all day and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a visit.

  • “Great to see so many developments”

Twycross is changing – the new animal houses, exhibits and layout are much more appropriate for a modern zoo – it now compares well to Chester, London and Whipsnade. Well worth a visit.

  • “Penguin Experience”
I’ve never been to Twycross and didn’t know what to expect so I had an open mind. I bought a Penguin experience on Wowcher back in December 2015 and could only use it in October 2016 because of how busy Twycross was. We arrived at Twycross and it was really quiet, the enclosures looked really good sizes for the animals although some looked run down and were empty. The Penguin experience was okay, fed them fish and it lasted around 15 minutes so I’m glad I didn’t pay the full price for it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall an okay day out and the highlight was feeding the Lorikeets which is a must!
  • “Fantastic day out ”
Had a fantastic day out at the zoo. Plenty to do interesting talks and friendly staff. Lots of animals including elephants, mearcats, otters, lots of monkeys and apes and lots more. There are lots of choice if you want to eat there in the main reception or a chip shop in the zoo it’s self. We got a membership for a year for £60 per adult with unlimited access to Twycross as well as one time entry to other zoos around the country including Chester zoo and edinbough zoo.
It’s well worth the money do would recommend it. Also includes 10% of the gift shop. Bargain!!
  • “Better than expected!”
Came for a day out with my boyfriend, had a fab time! The leopard cubs were my favourite of the day, so so cute and playful. Came midweek when kids were at school so was very quiet, pretty much had the whole zoo to ourselves! Stayed around for the elephant talk which was full of info and the lady in there was very helpful answering all questions. Only negative – not a lot of staff about!
Opening Times: 10am - 6pm
