Make your day even more memorable with an animal encounter, a once in a lifetime experience.

An animal encounter is the perfect way to get up close and personal with some of your favourite animals, plus a chance to pick the brains of our knowledgeable keepers.

Not only will you have a wonderful time and memories to take home forever, but you will also be contributing to the zoo’s conservation work helping to save animals from extinction.

Walking with Lemurs – £65 (up to 4 people)

Love lemurs? Then this is the perfect encounter for you!

The encounter starts at 10.30am with a special breakfast call for our troop of lemurs.

Watch them at touching distance scamper out of their indoor enclosure where you can serve their meal of veggies on their very own breakfast tables!

Watch their charismatic personalities unfold and discover just why they are a favourite animal here at the Zoo. This is also the perfect time to ask our expert keepers your need-to-know questions!

At the end of the encounter you will be awarded with a certificate and a special little something to remember the experience.

T&Cs

  • Minimum age of 3.
  • Each child under 16 must be accompanied by one adult.
  • This experience is suitable for wheelchair users.
  • All participants need to wear gloves during the experience and follow instruction from the keepers.
  • Participants must wear sturdy, closed toe shoes and long trousers/jeans.
  • The experience takes place inside Lemur Walk-Through at 10.30am.
  • Not all lemurs will be involved in the experience.
  • Please note that on rare occasions our lemurs might be enjoying their beds a little too much and may not attend breakfast. In the event this happens you will be welcomed to re-book your experience at a later date (zoo admission will need to be re-purchased for a second date but the second lemur experience will be complimentary)

Snow Leopard Experience  – £300 (for 2 adults)

This is a once in a lifetime experience. Feed one of the most beautiful animals in the world, the snow leopards.

At Twycross Zoo we have a family of snow leopards. Mum, Irma, dad, Suou and their two female cubs and during this encounter you will go behind the scences with their keepers and feed two of them their favourite meal…meat.

This experience is perfect for that special occassion, memorable first date, or perhaps even the perfect way to propose marriage!

The snow leopard experience package includes;

Zoo admission for two

30 minute encounter with the Snow Leopards including a talk by their keeper and up close feeding

3 course lunch and glass of champagne overlooking the snow leopard enclosure in the The View restaurant

Choice of Snow Leopard themed keepsake

  • Scarves and bags will need to left with another person outside the enclosure
  • This experience is wheelchair accessible
  • Only the 2 individuals will access the off show enclosure for the encounter, no additional capacity for viewing (family members etc)

Humboldt Penguins – £65 (up to 4 people)

Penguins are one of our most popular animals and these fascinating birds all have their own individual and unique characters.

On this experience you will be able to encounter some really special up close moments, feed them fish and quiz our keepers about these amazing aquatic birds.

This is an unusual, once in a lifetime feeding experience not to be missed!

Meerkats – £65 (up to 4 people)

Meercat thumbAn unusual feeding experience not to be missed where you will meet our cheeky and charismatic meerkats!

Are you a dipper or a shaker?

Will you dip your hand into the bag of live crickets and the pot of live mealworms, in order to feed the meerkats?

Or will you shake the live food out of the bag for these fascinating and curious animals?

  • All participants need to wear gloves during the experience and follow instructions from the keeper.
  • Participants must wear sturdy closed toe shoes and long trousers/jeans.
  • Scarves and bags will need to left with another person outside the enclosure.

Giraffes – £75 (up to 5 people)

Get closer than you ever imagined with the tallest land animals, making your day at the zoo one to ngiraffe-thumb-1ever forget!

This is a very special opportunity to meet and feed our giraffes and ask the keepers any questions you may have.

Oriental Small-Clawed Otters – £65 (up to 4 people)

You will get the chance to meet and feed our family of energetic otters.

Watch the otters come out of their holt, swim across the pool and sit at the edge waiting to be fed.

The otters will squeak when they are waiting for you to throw them their fish and meat. Otter thumb

Please note: we can’t guarantee an animal will want to feed. Just like humans they sometimes just aren’t hungry… but this is rare! In extreme circumstances we may have to cancel a feed.
