Twycross Zoo announces special offer to celebrate Father’s Day

From Wednesday 14 – Sunday 18 June, fatherly figures are invited to enjoy a free day out at Twycross Zoo when purchasing an adult, child or concession ticket*.
During their visit, families can embark on a journey into the natural world and discover some of the most endangered species on the planet, including the critically endangered Bornean orangutans, Eastern black rhino and the rarest big cat, the Amur leopard. Families will also be able to meet the zoo’s own animal dads who are helping to save their species from extinction, through conservation breeding programmes (EEP’s – Eaza Ex-situ Programmes).
What’s more, dads and their little ones can take part in an array of free crafts at the Zoo’s Craft Station. With a host of hands-on animal-themed craft activities to enjoy, families will be able to create something memorable together and take the work of art home as a keepsake.
Elsewhere at the Zoo, families can also experience The Gruffalo Discovery Land – a four-acre interactive land which aims to inspire the Zoo’s youngest visitors about the importance of conservation and protecting the natural world. With games, animatronics, film clips and real-life animals to discover – including snakes, owls and butterflies – guests to The Gruffalo Discovery Land will follow in Mouse’s footsteps through the deep, dark wood.
Visitors will also be able to take advantage of the sunshine in the zoo’s numerous outdoor play areas, giant 12m x 12m sandpit, barefoot sensory walk and Wet ‘n’ Wild splash pad, which are all included in zoo entry.
Twycross Zoo, which celebrated its 60th anniversary this year, is home to more than 400 animals from around 80 different species in its animal kingdom. Visitors can enjoy walkthrough animal enclosures as well as coming face-to-face with endangered species whilst learning more about the Zoo’s ongoing conservation efforts to protect and preserve them.
