FAQs

Who can book a Universal Credit Ticket?

Our reduced-price tickets are available for people receiving:

  • Universal Credit

  • Housing Benefit

  • Working Tax Credit

  • Income Support

  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)

These tickets are available for up to six people per household, all living at the same address. Children under 3 go free and don’t need a ticket, but they must be accompanied by an adult with a valid booking.

How much are the tickets?

Universal Credit Tickets are available for £7 per person. This gives access to our full daytime experience.

Please note: These tickets do not include special events, such as animal experiences or Lanterns of the Wild. They also don’t include access to an annual ticket.

How do I book?

These tickets must be booked online in advance through our website. They aren’t available to buy at the gate.

When booking, you’ll be asked to confirm your eligibility by ticking a box at checkout. You’ll then receive a confirmation email reminding you to bring proof with you on the day.

To make sure these tickets are used fairly, we allow one booking per household per day, up to a maximum of six tickets. Bookings are linked to your email and postcode.

What do I need to bring with me?

Please bring:

  • A recent letter or statement showing your benefit

  • Or a screenshot from your Universal Credit app

  • Or a bank statement showing the payment

  • Along with photo ID

Can I just turn up on the day?

No - these tickets are only available to book online in advance. If you arrive without a valid ticket, you’ll need to pay full price at the gate.

Why are you offering these tickets?

We know times are tough for many families, and we want to do what we can to help. These tickets are just one of the ways we’re making our zoo more accessible to all.

If you’re able to pay add a small donation when booking, we’re incredibly grateful. Every extra pound helps support the work we do - from caring for animals to protecting wildlife and habitats around the world.

Anything else I should know?

  • These tickets are valid for day entry only - not annual tickets.

  • Special events and activities require a separate booking.

  • Proof of eligibility is required per household - just one document is fine.
