Alongside the much-loved characters from the bestselling children’s book The Gruffalo written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, you’ll be introduced to real-life owls, snakes, butterflies and more.

This new land aims to spark the imagination of the next generation, engaging them with the wonders of nature through interactive Gruffalo themed activities.

Twycross Zoo East Midland Zoological Society LTD is a conservation organisation that exists to protect wildlife, preserve endangered species and educate the next generation on the importance of protecting our planet.
Our newly commissioned research reveals that over three quarters of children, as young as four, have a good understanding of extinction or endangered animals, but that more needs to be done to educate them on the solution – conservation, and how they can protect our planet.
With The Gruffalo Discovery Land becoming an integral part of Twycross Zoo, we aim to engage and inspire children about the importance of conservation and the natural world.
The Gruffalo Discovery Land has been inspired by the bestselling children’s book The Gruffalo written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, and has been developed in partnership with Magic Light Pictures.
