The performance from EAGA Gospel Choir forms part of a wider programme of activity at the Zoo, designed to help people connect with wildlife, meet with like-minded individuals and enjoy the positive mental health benefits of spending time outdoors.

Sustainable Dolls House

Hinckley and Rugby Building Society have upcycled a doll’s house into a sustainable home. Learn about solar panels, a wind turbine (not to scale) and recycling bins – all of which could make your very own home eco-friendly.

Build a Bug Home

Bugs find shelter in cracks and crevices of walls and building. However, due to old walls and building increasingly being knocked down bugs are finding it hard to find a lasting home. Bugs are great pollinators and are really important to the ecosystem. Give them a home and they will help pollinate your garden. Join Twycross Zoo’s Education Team and support them in building a bug hotel, which will become a permanent fixture at Twycross Zoo.

Nature Reserve

Explore Twycross Zoo’s Nature Reserve, which helps save local wildlife by influencing species to thrive in a natural wetland habitat. Download our activity sheet to help you on your journey through this important native wetlands habitat

Mobile Phone Recycling

Twycross Zoo have partnered with Genuine Solutions to offer our staff and visitors a permanent mobile phone recycling scheme. It is estimated that 51% of UK households have unused electronic devices, and 4.7 million Brits admittedly put their old phone in general waste. You can hand in your old mobile phones here at Twycross Zoo, contributing to a more environmentally conscious culture and reducing our negative impact on the environment.

We all have hopes and dreams for ourselves and for the next generation For the next generation to have the future we want and they deserve, we have a duty to tackle the climate crisis and protect nature today.

About Twycross Zoo

Twycross Zoo East Midland Zoological Society LTD is a conservation organisation that exists to protect wildlife, preserve endangered species and educate the next generation on the importance of protecting our planet.

Our newly commissioned research reveals that over three quarters of children, as young as four, have a good understanding of extinction or endangered animals, but that more needs to be done to educate them on the solution – conservation, and how they can protect our planet.

We aim to engage and inspire children about the importance of conservation and the natural world.
