Deer-ly beloved: New arrival at Twycross Zoo

An adorable new arrival was given a royal welcome on a very special occasion last month.

The tufted deer was born on Saturday 19th May, the day of the Royal Wedding, and is the second offspring of mother, Fatima, and father, Mitch.

The male fawn, named Duke as a nod to its birth on the royal occasion, has captured the hearts of visitors and keepers alike, as well as stealing the show on the day of the royal nuptials!

As the only UK zoo breeding tufted deer, and one of only two collections keeping this species, we are very excited to welcome the new arrival.
