Tiny twins born to smallest monkey in the world
We’ve welcomed two tiny additions to the Zoo with Pygmy marmoset twins coming out to wow visitors.
Pygmy marmosets are the world’s smallest species of monkey, measuring in at smaller than a pencil and weighing less than 15g. They are only expected to grow up to 6 inches in length.
The month-old mini marmosets were born to proud mother, PJ and father, Februari on February 11. PJ was born here at Twycross Zoo and is a very experienced mother.
The little monkeys are just starting to explore their environment and experiment with new foods. It’s a very interesting time to come visit them as they are starting to develop their own characters.
While you’re here, you can also walk the Wetlands area, marvel at the winged wonders of the Butterfly Farm, meet the meerkats, pop and see the penguins and say hi to the snow leopards.
