2. Prepare for your visit and the possibility of queues
The school holidays can be a busy time for us at the zoo and our team work hard to park and welcome visitors as quickly as possible to enjoy a great family day out. As a charity our visitors’ patience and support is greatly appreciated so we can continue our award winning conservation work.
To make the most out of your day, we’d advise;
- Book online in advance as we only have limited tickets available!
- Check travel alerts before setting off on your journey
- Avoid arriving at peak times between 10am-11am. Our car parks are open from 8am, breakfast is served in Himalaya from 8.30am and the zoo closes at 6pm.
- If you are traveling from the North on the M42, our suggestion is to get off at Jct 12 and take the HGV route along the B4116 to Twycross Zoo.
- Please note; there will be separate queue lines for TZ Members during the school holidays. Ask a member of staff for more information when you arrive.
3. Breakfast from 8.30am overlooking the Snow Leopards
Before your day begins, enjoy a delicious breakfast from 8.30am at The View Restaurant in Himalaya overlooking our beautiful big cats – can you catch a glimpse of our beautiful Snow leopards as you tuck into your full English or pancakes? Check out The View Restaurant menu here.
No worries if you can’t make breakfast, The View Restaurant and Costa also serves lunch, cakes as well as drinks AND their are lots of other places to eat and drink around the zoo too!

Take a walk on the wild side and come face to face with one of the world’s most critically-endangered species, the Eastern Black Rhino! Our female Rhino, Nandi will be waiting to meet all of our visitors – will you fall in love with her as much as we have?
Plus how many animal babies you can spot around the zoo – Molusc the penguin chick, two wallaby joeys and a Kirk’s Dik-Dik calf are just to name a few!
5. Wet ‘n’ Wild is open for Spring/Summer
The very popular Wet ‘n’ Wild play park is now open and FREE with your zoo admission ticket. Remember to bring a spare pair of clothes and a towel as we have our own changing facility available.
