Twycross Zoo thanks visitors for record-breaking February half-term!

The sun was shining on Twycross Zoo during February half term as we welcomed a record breaking number of visitors, more than 62,000 in just 9 days!

Sharon Redrobe, CEO at Twycross Zoo, said: “It was fantastic to welcome so many families during February half term and we are delighted our promotion enabled so many visitors to enjoy a fun day out with us in the sunshine.  Every single penny we make here at the zoo helps us to achieve our conservation goal so each visitor really does make a difference.”

The money we received during this busy period will be invested straight back in to vital conservation work as it continues to deliver its ambitious 20-year, £55million master plan. An ambitious, market-leading project designed to improve animal welfare standards by creating a more natural environment, while also providing more entertaining and educational facilities for visitors.

Karen Clarke, Chief Operating Officer, said: “It’s a very exciting time at Twycross Zoo.  Building on the success of our Chimpanzee Eden habitat in 2018, this year we will be adding to our visitor experience again, ensuring there is always something new for our visitors to enjoy. We look forward to sharing our plans very soon.”
